Has Anyone Seen Our Build Site???

I can not believe I am already 7 days into the trip! A full week is already gone, which also means that we only have a little over a week left in Honduras for the year. Yesterday we had a very productive day! We built 2 family a new home in the La Tigra rainforest…which is very good because it rained last night! We finished up our medical center in Diamante and we had a team goto the hospital, mi esperanza, and do a Gatorade blitz.

When we first got to build site we had no idea where our build sites were. Manuel, Cesar, Jonie, and tricky were going around the mountain trying to find our sites...which we finally found about an hour later. My group found our site first and apparently the other group drove around for at least 45 minutes before they found their site.

As you know we have had many easy house builds so far this year….yesterday we finally were given a more challenging build site…Here are some of the things that we ran into on our build site:
  • ·      We had to level the ground
  • ·      We had to more 2 large piles of cinder blocks
  • ·      We dug through hard clay
  • ·      We had to cut down part of a tree
  •      We had to carry the wood down to the site

Some *1 or 2* of the cinder blocks we moved off the site.

Matt digging out the post hole in the hard clay.

Some of the wood we carried down the mountain.

The mountain that Hunter and I carried wood down for about an hour and a half.

Dan cutting out the window and Scott putting the hinges on the door.

The little girl LOVED the elephant that was in the donation bag for the house!

My amazing crew putting up the high wall!
Thank goodness there was a hill on my side!

A huge lime!

Hunter and I saw baby ducks while were carried wood down the mountain!

The team we had did an awesome job staying positive and cheering everyone on as we worked. It was a great day surrounded by amazing people! Around 3:30 the other build came over and was able to help us get finished. We left the build sites around 4:30.
shower is cold I can still stand under the water!

At devo last night Carlos spoke about finding our identity. He used Galations 2:20 in his devo. He spoke about how if we have given our lives to God that part of us has to die, that we cannot be the same person we were the day before.
