Flying By

I can not believe that today is our last day. This trip has flew by so quickly, I am no where near ready to be leaving. Yesterday we had the all girls build, a food distrabution team, and my group went to Mololoah. We had a few people work in the feeding center, a few landscsping, and about four of us were in the daycare.

We had a great time at the daycare helping Wendy take care of the kiddos. I will simply let the pictures talk for my day today because we have to be moving quickly today.

After we finished at the daycare we convinced Nolran, our amazing bus driver to take us to McDonalds. That burger and fries was beyond good after not so long of not having it! Then we came back and went to the puter store. Some of the boys thougt puter was meant for computer, which was funny when they arrived at a store full of mirrors, trays, etc.

Practice for a show they are doing for Tylers church when they come down to work.

After finding these little shark water guns we had a blast! We had times that the kids chaced us with them
and times where we were chasing the kids.

A wonderful lunch of rice and beans!

I had so much fun with these kiddos!
We had a tickeling war, I am pretty sure
I lost because at one point I had about 8 or 9 kids on top of me!

Tyler moved to Honduras in October of last year.
He does an amazing job working in Mololoah.
If you would like more information about his work or would like to sponsor him let me know!

Sandia Fiesta

What an amazing day! When getting ready for groups I was determined that I would not build again but God had different plans and I once again ended up on the house build team. So we got all our tools ready and on the bus and I ask Tricky where we are build to which he replys Mololoah. I am pretty sure I got the biggest smile on my face that mo one could have possible got off! So we pull into Mololoah and get off the bus, right away I saw two of my boys and soo pn after my little 5 year old Calvin comes running down the mountain and straigt into my arms.

Many people got to ride up in Marks truck to the build site but with my kids there I decided to walk with them. The build was not to far up the mountsin so I was glad for that! When we got to the site we had to move the wood closer to the site,  we had lots of help, even my 5 year old Calvin and his sister were moving boards together.

The site was very close together, with the number of people and kiddos we did not have much room to move around. We had a wall about 5 inches from a dirt wall and a wall about 5 inches from a cliff. After getting the boards moved the others had most of the post holes dug so I got to work on the wall that was about 5 inches from the dirt wall. It was not easy nailing in those nails but somehow we all managed to get it done. By the time we finished theynhad already begun on the floor so I took a turn watching our backpacks, Mololoah has many kids that will steal from us so we try to always have a person on backpack duty.

I then took over helping to finish the flooring. Then my real fun began because there were so many peole that I was able to spend the remainder of my day with my little boy Calvin. I had such a great time holding him and lauging with him. A short while later Mark came up with two large watermelons for us to cut up and eat. Calvin was so cute eating the watermelon, he went back for more about 3 or 4 times.

We got back to the Mission House around 3:00 and had a little bit of time to get cleaned up before going on a trip. We had plans to goto the Jesus statue earlier in the week but those didn't work so we got to go last night. Tim Hines gave a wonderful devo about never forgetting that even after we leave the poverty here does not leave, they still are living the same when we leave here. He told us we were doing a wonderful job but that there is still more work to be done and things that will constantly need to be prayed for.

When we got back from the statue Scott and I played our spades rematch against Taylor and Dan. Scott an I prevailed and had pretty much a perfect game aside from picking up some bags.

Moving Mountains

Yesterday we broke off into three groups, a house build, food distrabution, and a group to Mololoah. I was blessed to spend another day in Mololoah. The group there was also split three ways a feeding center group, daycare group, and a group working to level out the new garden area. It was a fun experience moving a mountain, since that is basically what we were doing. I was very glad that some strong younger men on our team went with us and spent pretty much the entire day swinging picaxes. We also had a little help from the cutest twins in Honduras, David and Angel. Those two boys worked so hard with us shoveling dirt and helping us carry buckets of dirt to dump out.

During our lunch break I went out the daycare gates and got to play with the twins, Jefferson, and a little girl named Genisis. They had a great time taking pictures with my camera and having me pick them up and swing them around. It was after lunch that we went back to work that they found a hole in the fence and decided to come in and help us work.

After the feeding center crew finished their work they came up and took some of our places in the garden to give us a break. Naturally if you know me I took this break and went out to play with my kiddos. I also got to see my Franklin, who was busy working all day right beside us fixing a tin roof. It is so neat seeing him all grown up but it is also sad for me because I want him to be my little boy who sits on my lap again.

By the end of our work we did not get the entire garden shoveled out. However we do believe that we completed enoug for the daycare to go ahead and back the fence up two feet to extend the playground.

I will try to post pictures again later today but for now the internet is too spotty for me to get my camera to load the pictures.

Bus Surfins, Shopping, Pupusas, and New Family

Yesterday we had our shopping day. I slept in till about 6:00 yesterday and then got ready for Mi Esperanza. By about 9:00 we were down at the Mi Esperanza. Laurie told us her story of Mi Esperanza. About 12 years ago she fell in love with the women of Honduras and wanted to find a way to help them. It is amazing how much her love for women has changed lives of countless people in this country. We spent about an hour and a half shopping, I have to say I got some good stuff!

When we finished we set out the the Valley of Angels. I spent my time with Miss Sarah, Erica, and Dylan. We had a wonderful time shopping and eating papusas at a place called Virginias. After that my day turned a little bad. In my 11 years I have never been sick here in Honduras and althoug I still did not get the HTP most get I did get rather sick. I am fairly certain that it was a mix with the papusa not sitting right and being overheated. On the bus I was able to laydown and sleep till we got to Diamante for church services. Once there I felt much better. Terry spoke at church, I was amazed to see the amount of men at the service. After the service we had 6 new people added to our Christian family. For those of you who have never seen a baptism is a large bucket get ready to enjoy the pictures. One gental man who was baptized was so excited he hardly waited for Terry to dunk him in the water.

After the baptisms we rode back the the mission house for Taco Laco, a delishious taco treat. We then finished our day with devo and I turned in early since I had been a little uneasy early in the day.

 Bus surfing

For those of you who don't know our one driver is nicknamed
Loco (crazy in spanish) and he earned every bit of that name. He probably goes
about 60 miles an hour or so down the mountain and around tigt turns.

When you bus surf you can not touch the seats at all, and let me tell you
Loco drives in a way that he tries to make you touch the seats.
