Be the No Name

Most days in Honduras we are given choices for where we go each day. Every person has different skills but the amazing thing is that we challenge our skills while we are here. There are many times you may look at the different grouos and different people that come and question how we are able to do some of the things we do, the answer is simple it is God. There have been years where we have had a girls house build, a build where all those working on the house aside from the house build leader were women. There have been large me who break down due to a small child. God is able to make us do amazing things if we simply hand them over to him.

Jason lead our devo this morning. He spoke on Jesus feeding the 5,000. He discussed how his favorite person in the story was not Philip, not even Jesus, but the little boy. This littlw boy who had 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish but gave it to Jesus who was then able to turn it into something amazing. Jason discussed how he liked to imagin that the boy was so content being in the shadows of the story, that the boy would not have wanted the name of the story to be "The boy feeds the  5,000, he was happy to give his all to Jesus and let Him to do wonders with it. God is able to turn anything into something amazing all you have to do is hand it over to Him.

Most of the group today went to the Hospital and then to a location to move rocks. I chose to go with the smaller group who was told we would be mixing concrete and digging footers for a wall going around the primeter of Casa de Esperanza, a childrens home. When we arrived we were told not to mix concrete and not to dig footers but to move rocks. Now I am not talking a small pile of rocks and then getting to work on the major stuff, I am talking moving a very very LARGE pile of rocks. Talk about a humble job! I would love to tell you something exciting about this activity but really there is not much to tell, we made an assembly line and moved rocks from one pile to another so that they would not be in the way of where the wall was being put up. This job was very necessary and time consuming.

So we moved rocks from about 10:30 until 12:00. Then we had a break for lunch and got to work breaking down a wall. To break this wall down we moved rocks, it was a rock wall. Then we were able to begin digging some of the footers for the wall. We were not able to finish this task before leaving but we did get the tin wall up around where we took down the rock wall so that people can not enter the property where the wall is not up yet.

Back at the mission house I had a busy evening getting Barnabas notes ready for the crew. Barnabas nots are simply little envelopes that have each persons name and a little decoration. After filling them all out I taped them around the room. Now the crew will be able to write encouraging notes to eachother througout the reminder of the trip.

Sorry for the lack of pictures but they are not working. I am going to try to put Angels first cup of coffee on since it did not post last time. I will try to put pictures on tonight.
